A team of Brazilian scientists led by researcher Paulo Saldiva, a professor at the Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP) studied the reactions of Covid-19 in the human organism. The study enrolled minimally invasive autopsies performed in patients who died from Covid-19.  To perform the autopsies, the researchers used combined resources: tomography, ultrasound and microscopy to collect samples of the organs by needle puncture, to make the procedure minimally invasive. They assessed five men and five women of Covid-19 aged from 33 to 83 years and investigate the negative impact of the disease on lungs, liver, spleen and kidneys. The study detected an extreme aggressiveness of Covid-19, especially in the respiratory system, in which it induces a microthrombosis, causing intense ravage.
